R22 is an outdated refrigerant that has been banned due to its environmental impact. It is no longer legal to use for servicing or maintaining air conditioning systems in the UK.
Systems installed before 2010 are more likely to use R22. If you’re unsure, we can inspect your system and confirm the type of refrigerant used.
Basic repairs can still be carried out, but if refrigerant is required, it cannot legally be topped up. This makes ongoing maintenance increasingly difficult.
