Replacing Electronic Expansion Valve on Hitachi Water Chiller

Whilst carrying out our regular maintenance at a customer’s data centre in Trafford Park we found one chiller to be faulting on low pressure.

Our engineers diagnosed a faulty electronic expansion valve so we reclaimed all 64 KG R407c and removed the suspect valve.

We had a new valve and stepper motor couriered to site to minimise down time.

We fitted the new parts and replaced the drier cores at the same time.

The system was re- commissioned and left fully operational with the chiller offline for 3 days.
